Every photo is captured live and cryptographically sealed the instant it's taken — with a timestamp and GPS location. No gallery uploads. No edits. No AI generation after the fact. Just proof.
The problem
Edited paint, swapped-in photos from a cleaner example, AI-touched damage, images pulled from another listing — buyers have no way to tell. Marketplaces write rules against it, but a rule with no way to enforce it is just a hope. Rethos makes the rule enforceable.
How it works
No app, no account. They open a secure link and the camera opens live inside the page. Gallery uploads are blocked — every photo is taken on the spot.
The instant a photo is taken, it's fingerprinted with SHA-256, stamped with a server timestamp and GPS coordinates, and stored. Change one pixel and the fingerprint no longer matches.
Every photo carries a public verification page that re-checks the fingerprint on demand. Green means untouched since capture. It's the badge a listing carries.
What Rethos proves
Rethos guarantees provenance, not opinion: that a photo was captured live, at a known time and place, and hasn't changed since. That's the claim that holds up — and it's the one buyers actually need.
Camera opens in-page. No camera roll, no file picker, on any device.
SHA-256 fingerprint at capture, re-checked on every verification.
Authoritative server timestamp plus GPS coordinates, not the phone's clock.
Reused images are flagged automatically across every listing.
Rethos runs alongside your existing listing flow. Sellers still shoot their beauty photos however they like — Rethos adds a verified condition set that buyers can trust. We're running early pilots now.
